San Gil is a tourist town. In this town the people can do extreme sports. Also there are places for extreme sports and tourist attractions that park gallineral, it's very beautiful and exotic and natural, the park have beautiful flowers. Other tourist place is the chicamocha park it's very famous in the world. It's very important and it's the most important park in Santander, it is the icon of tourism. The people love to visit the park, because it is beautiful and you can have fun. In the park you can find the cable car and other attractions such as museums.

San Gil has a good weather in the mornings and in the evenings. it's hot in the morning and it's cold at night.we can say it is the perfect weather of this municipality.

You can wear clothes like shorts, skirts, dresses, hats and galsses. you can wear more comfortable and casual clothes, to enjoy each activity with in this beautiful place.

The strong colors are the main attraction for women. the men can wear shorts, t-shirts, and sleep under a blanket at night.

San Gil is a wonderful place, san gil has a tourist park, you can't miss. it's name is "parque gallineral" where you can find a unique quiet, thanks to the variety of trees and shurbs, It's  also a historical site, where you can know monuments refering to Santander.

San Gil is famous for it's extreme sports that you can practice in the place. One of them and the funniest is the rafting wich can be practiced in the fonce river and "Quebrada Curiti" .

It is a place where you can do many things, you shouldn't be missed.

San Gil has a very big gastronomic variety. the special dish is pepitoria that consist mainly of rice and goat blood. Although the ingredients are not so nice for somepeople, try to assure that you will be delighted with the delicious taste. it is usually served with goat, fried yucca and good avocado.

other traditional and exotic dish of this territory are the culonas ants, that have a unique and secret preparation. for many people this dish is considered an aphrodisiac one that is why when you visit this place, you need to try them for their popular gift of love.

San gil is the tourist capital of santander and is recognized for being the cradle of extreme sports. It´s located at 90 kms from Bucaramanga and 320 kms form Bogota on the panamerican road.

San Gil has three companies of urban transport wich have service of collective urban transport, taxis and carga. Also you cand find tricycles known as tuk tuks, these are appropiate to carry two people and their baggage.
